The Codfather was re-established in 2013 by Juliano and Matthew, who had a vision to modernise the ﬁsh and chip shop industry. Matthew who comes from a second generation Fish and Chip family, who's father, Peter Marks was the original owner of The Codfather, hopes to follow in his father's legacy, having turned The Codfather into an award winning ﬁsh and chip shop, attracting media attention. Matthew hopes to carry on this legacy by bringing in the families secret batter recipe and traditional techniques, previously used by his father.
Juliano, who shares the same passion and love for the ﬁsh and chip industry has worked closely with Matthew and his father, for 6 years gaining invaluable skills and training along the way. Juliano has been able to modernise The Codfather by bringing in new and fresh ideas such as, loyalty cards, a website and the introduction of the latest technology in frying equipment, making the perfect partnership and a combination like no other. The couple are not going to stop there, having introduced meal deals and competitions; 'be a winner, score your dinner,' which has got the whole town talking about the brilliant, traditional, yet modern Codfather.

On December 9th 2013, at The Codfather's grand opening, we were honoured to have the Mayor of Aylesbury, Tom Hunter-Watts, to formally re-launch the traditional, yet modern Codfather, marking the special occasion. Co-owner Matthew said the mayor joined in with the cooking behind the counter and sat down to enjoy his meal afterwards, not even looking up. After his experience at The Codfather, the Mayor raced to twitter to tweet about it. His tweet read, 'delighted to have formally opened @TheCodfatherAY on Jackson Road and fried some chips too!' After the exciting re launch the duo were straight back to business.
When it comes to the quality and sustainable of the food, the duo will not compromise, with Juliano stating that 'quality is not expensive, it is priceless!'
